Why I Use Native Forbs In My Winter Stockpile

  1. I recently learned that the forbs (wildflowers), especially non-legumes, also promote soil health in a big way. They share their sugars with the soil microbial community more so than grasses do. So, having a diversity of forbs can really help promote good soil health.
